AS THE CONTROVERSY surrounding ad blocking software intensifies, Apple has welcomes an app called Been Choice into the iTunes App Store.
But this isn’t just another ad blocker. As well as blocking ads in third-party apps, this one will block advertising content in native apps as well, effectively cutting off an income stream from the always cheap and never knowingly overpriced Apple iPhone range.
The mystery deepens as to whether Apple meant to do this or not, given that it works in, among others, the Apple News app. Most ad blockers such as Crystal, a new feature in iOS 9, will block ads only from third-party apps.
